Quick Start Guide

Getting started with our Quick Start Guide

This guide takes you from installing Frontage to publishing your first property listing.

Before you install

Your site needs:

– WordPress 6.9 or later
– PHP 8.0 or later
– The Divi 5 theme. Divi 4 is not supported.

On a WordPress multisite network, activate Frontage on each site that uses it. Network activation is not supported currently.

Install the plugin

1. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
2. Click Upload Plugin and choose the Frontage ZIP file.
3. Click Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

When you activate Frontage, it asks for your license.

Run the setup wizard

Frontage includes a setup wizard that covers eight areas, in this order:

1. Listing types and pricing
2. Fields
3. Labels and URLs
4. PDF generation
5. Brochure templates
6. Team members (optional)
7. Media storage (optional)
8. Maps and geocoding (optional)

You do not need to configure everything. Each of the first five needs one look: open it, then click Mark as reviewed. You can skip the last three if you don’t use them.

To open it, use Resume setup on the Finish setting up Frontage card on the Frontage dashboard. The card shows each area as reviewed, skipped or pending. You can leave the wizard at any time; it remembers where you were.

Find your way around

Everything in Frontage is reached from the Frontage menu in the WordPress admin sidebar. Clicking it opens the Frontage dashboard, which has its own navigation on the left:

| Group | What’s in it |
|—|—|
| Overview | Dashboard, and Help & support |
| Operations | All Properties, Team Members, Testimonials |
| Documents | PDF Brochures, Disclosures, PDF Analytics, PDF Settings |
| Integrations | Cloud Storage, Map Settings |
| Tools | Import / Export |
| Global Settings | Fields, Listing Types, Property Types, Markets, Testimonial Categories, Testimonial Settings, Team Settings, PDF Engine Settings, Labels & URLs, License & updates |

If you have renamed properties, property types or markets under Labels & URLs, the menu uses your names.

Publish your first property

1. Go to Operations → All Properties and click Add Property.
2. Fill in the details, add photos, and assign team members.
3. Click Publish.

The property editor saves a draft automatically while you work, and the sidebar shows when it last did. Use Save Draft to save without publishing.

A property has two separate settings that decide whether visitors can see it:

– Publish status (Draft, Pending Review or Published) is the standard WordPress setting.
– Listing visibility (Active or Inactive) decides whether a published property is shown to the public. An inactive property shows “not found” to visitors, but logged-in editors and administrators can still see it.

A property is visible to the public only when it is both Published and Active.
